The submerged forest is located in Lake Traful, one of the famous 7 lakes on Route 40, located within the Nahuel Huapi National Park, in Neuquén and  dates back to 1960, when an earth movement caused the slope of the Bayo hill to slide, causing the forest to fall towards the bottom of the lake clinging to the stone block in which they were inserted. The submerged forest dazzles and offers unique views to those who dare to dive among gigantic, almost intact trees.  Several companies operates in the era organizing boat and dive tours.
