Unawatuna is a famous beach in the surroundings of Galle in the Southern Province of Sri Lanka.
Unwawatuna is a beach resort in the Galle District, southern province, on the southwest coast of Sri Lanka. Unawatuna Bay is located on the Indian Ocean.

The place founded by Dutch merchants was first and foremost a port of call for numerous backpack tourists, but today, the town is increasingly popular with backpackers, the beach is dotted with palm trees, small restaurants, shops, hotels and discos. In the bay of Unawatuna there are plenty of options for safe swimming and surfing. In the southern part of the bay there is a coral reef, which can be explored by snorkeling or diving.
