Vilankulo is a Fishing village overlooking the Indian Ocean in Mozambique, in the Vilanculos District of Inhambane Province.
The town of Vilankulo is the gateway to the Bazaruto archipelago. Dhows and helicopters connect the city and the archipelago. The village itself is only about three miles from north to south. The town is a popular holiday destination for many South Africans and offers a combination of pleasant weather, crystal clear seas, beautiful beaches and various water sports that can be practised. Rates are not exorbitant and a variety of resorts have recently been developed, as well as a number of good places to eat.
