The Ala-Köl is a glacial mountain lake in the Terskey-Ala-Too region, in the Central Tien Shan, Kyrgyzstan.
The lake is located at an altitude of 3532 meters above sea level. It is 2.3 kilometers long and 700 meters wide. The clear waters of the lake are fed by the melting glacier, and the outflows form a waterfall. This lake freezes between October and May and is surrounded by rocky mountain ridges.
The lake changes color depending on the time of day, The water may appear purple, dark blue or even pink – depending on the season and climate.is considered the pearl of the Terskey-Ala-Too mountain range.
