The Arc de Triomphe is a historical monument located in Paris, the capital of France.
The Arc de Triomphe located in the middle of Charles de Gaulle Square, on the western part of the Champs-Élysées. It is 45 meters long, 22 meters wide and 49 meters high.
Under the triumphal arch lies the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier from the First World War with the daily maintained Eternal Flame, known in French as Flame du Souvenir , in memory of the dead who were never identified.
The building is one of the metropolis’s landmarks and is only accessible to pedestrians through an underpass , the arch has a viewing platform.

The flame on the grave has not gone out since 1923 The flame is refreshed every evening at 18:30 by war veterans and associations.

- In 1840, Napoleon’s remains were driven under the Arc during an impressive ceremony. Adolphe Thiers (1877), Léon Gambetta (1920) and Marshal Philippe Leclerc (1947) also received this honor.
