Camiguin is a pear-shaped volcanic island which is located in the Sea of Mindanao in the southern part of the Philippines.
According to scientists, the small volcanic island is home to fifty-four species of birds and twenty-four species of mammals. Many representatives of the island fauna are found nowhere else on Earth.
In addition to the volcanoes, which can be climbed with a guide, tourists are also interested in mountain bike tours through the interior of the island, diving and snorkeling, and a visit to the many hot and cold springs and waterfalls.
The island is still little known to tourists. There are several resorts on the island, most of which also have a diving center attached. Very beautiful spots are “Old Volcano”, “White Island” and also the nearby underwater protected area “Mantigue Island”.
According to the Philippine Department of Tourism, Camiguin Island is included in the 25 most interesting sites in the Philippines and ranked 7th in the ranking of diving sites in the world.
