The source of the Cetina river or the eye of the Earth or Blue Eye ,located 7 km north of Vrlika ,a small town and municipality in Dalmatia ,Croatia.
The Cetina River Spring or eye of the Earth is a fairytale scene of a turquoise hole about 115 meters deep that seems unrealistically transparent.Cetina springs at an altitude of 385 m in the northwestern slopes of the Dinara near the village of Cetina, 7 km north of Vrlika, after which the river got its name. The source of the Cetina is a lake over a hundred meters deep,Cetina is a river in Croatia. Length – 105 km. It flows into the Adriatic Sea.
The river is famous for its picturesque gorge with a turbulent current.
It is one of the great three rivers in the historical region of Dalmatia.The nearby mountains are part of the Dinaric Alps and reach altitudes close to 2000 meters.
The river begins seven kilometers from the small village of Cetina on the slopes of the Dinaric Highlands at an altitude of 385 meters above sea level near the border of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Since 1972, the spring has been a protected hydrological monument. Due to its great depth, the Cetina Spring or blue lake is a popular destination for adventure lovers.
