Bran Castle is a castle in the village of Bran in the Transylvania ,a historical and cultural region in Romania.
The castle was built in the 13th century by the Teutonic Order and today is a national monument of Romania. It is located on the borders of Transylvania and Wallachia. It is often referred to as “Count Dracula’s castle”, but there is no evidence that Bram Stoker referred to this castle, and the castle’s connection to Vlad the Impaler, the inspiration for the novel, is tenuous. Bran Castle is one of the country’s main tourist attractions and attracts hundreds of thousands of tourists every year. The castle today operate as a museum.
