On the Boso Peninsula in Chiba Prefecture, which is close to Tokyo,Japan.  there is a spot that has been attracting attention all at once in the last few years. That is “Kameiwa Cave”.

“Kameiwa Cave”/ Nomizo Waterfall In particular, the heart-shaped silhouette that reflects the light shining from the cave on the surface of the water has become a hot topic, and many people visit it regardless of the season. This cave and paddy fields, it is an artificial cave that was dug by short-cutting by making a tunnel or a cut through the meandering and constricted part of the river called Kawamawashi.
This place, which is also a public park, can be explored in about 20 minutes using the well-maintained promenade.Nomizo (Nomizo) waterfall is a small waterfall that can be seen from the top of the promenade. It is said that the rocks in the flow of the river look like a heart, so please try to find them.

Highlights :

  • If you want to take a picture of the light shining on the cave reflecting off the surface of the water and forming a sideways heart shape, best time to visit is the equinoctial week in March and September, especially in the early morning hours from 6:30 to 7:30 on a sunny day.
  • The beautiful autumn leaves can be seen from late November to early December.
  • Besides the silhouette of the heart of the cave, I also want to see the turtle-shaped rock.This rock in the Kameiwa cave can be clearly seen in the flat water when there are no waves.
  • Nomizo Falls  , actually a small  waterfall that flows through the Kameiwa Cave.
