On the Big Sur coastline in central California, U.S.A. , there is a stunning beach where nature has shown creativity and colored the sand in various shades of purple.
Pfeiffer Beach is one of the favorite beachs in all of Big Sur.

Pfeiffer Beach , is well known for Keyhole Rock, a popular photography subject. This uniqueness is due to the fact that the rocks that surround the beach are rich in one of the varieties of pomegranate – spessartine.
This virtually untouched beach is popular with locals, but not well known to tourists. It is hidden among the hills and, despite the sign, is quite difficult to find.

Access : Coordinates: 36.238611, -121.8175 / The road and the beach are within the Los Padres National Forest. , Highway 1 to Sycamore Canyon Road. The road is difficult to see. It is in between the Big Sur Ranger Station and the Post Office.

  •  Pfeiffer Beach is a Day Use Area, no overnight camping. Hours 9:00 AM – 8:00 PM 7 days a week. $10.00 entrance fee.
