Lake Irene is located in Rocky Mountain National Park. ( Rocky Mountain National Park is an American national park located  in north-central Colorado ) U.S.A.
Lake Irene is a small picturesque subalpine lake with an easy 1.0 mile (1.6k) loop trail with little elevation change around its banks.
The tiny lake was named for one of the guests that stayed at Camp Wheeler, a  ranch owned by “Squeaky Bob” Wheeler during the early part of the 20th century. At Lake Irene There are picnic tables, some with lake views.
Interesting stops at Rocky Mountain National Park comfortable  with stunning reflections of the surrounding landscape.At the height of the tourist season, many visitors to the park drive along this road and stop at numerous parking areas to take pictures of the views.

Access : Coordinates:40.607266, -105.819688 / Lake Irene is located off of Trailridge Road on the West side of Rocky Mountain National Park. Just a couple hundred yards off highway 34.

Highlights :

  •  The Lake Irene Picnic Area is on the right.Nice picnic area at the top of the trail next to the parking lot,There is also a vault toilet near the parking lot.
  •  The Lake Irene Loop Trail : The length of the trail is 0.5 miles (0.8 km) you can hike the trail in 15 minutes.
  •  Lake Irene is a good place to have a picnic or enjoy a relaxing walk while driving through the park’s landscape.
  •  Reservations to enter the park will go on sale through Recreation.gov at 8 a.m.
