Matkov Škaf is a natural phenomenon above the valley of Matkov Kot in the Kamnik-Savinja Alps, in Slovenia.

Matkov Škaf located under the walls of Mrzle Gore at an altitude of 1450 meters, it is a crater-like snow cauldron, where water falls in a light waterfall in the spring into a thick snowfield filled with avalanches in the winter, digging a cupboard-shaped hole in the snow.
Water falls on it through a gutter in the wall of the Severe Scratch, which has dug a wide and over 50 m deep hole.
The crater is made every year, but it is of different dimensions due to the different amount of snowfall. ”On average, it is 20 to 30 meters wide at the top and narrows at the bottom. The water below is lost in the gravel.

Matkov škaf is protected as the largest, most beautiful and most famous phenomenon of its kind in our country.
