Playa Hermosa, located in Puntarenas, lies just five kilometers south of Jaco and is one of the best places for professional surfing, famous among both Costa Rican and foreign athletes.

Every August, the International Surfing Championship “Quicksilver” is held on the waves of Playa Hermosa, attracting professional athletes from all over the world.
