The Solomon Islands or Salomon Atoll is an atoll in the Chagos Archipelago, British Indian Ocean Territory, in the southwestern Pacific Ocean.

The Solomon Islands lies at about 5.3 degrees south latitude in the north of the Chagos Archipelago between the Blenheim Reef and the atoll Peros Banhos – between Papua New Guinea and Vanuatu. There are six major volcanic islands and approximately 992 small islands, atolls and reefs.
The tropical Solomon Islands  is a popular anchorage for yachtsmen passing through Chagos, although yachts do not have proper berths and require permission from the British Indian Ocean Territory authorities. Currently, the uninhabited islands are overgrown with jungles that have sprouted among coconut palms, and traces of former settlements are difficult to find.
