St. Simons Island is a small island in the Atlantic Ocean off the coast of Georgia (east coast of the United States).
Saint-Simon Island is part of the Golden Isles of Georgia, a group of barrier islands and marshy hammocks between the Altamaha River Delta to the north and St. Simons. The Island is linked to the city of Brunswick by a two-lane, 7-kilometer-long causeway.
Located on the southeast Georgia coast, midway between Savannah and Jacksonville, St. Simons Island is both a seaside resort and residential community. Tourism is the main occupation for the residents. There are numerous cotton plantations on the island.

- Fort Frederica National Monument : Fort Frederica is a British colonial fort and settlement, The fort was built in 1736 in the marshland of the delta of the Altamaha River on a tributary named after the Frederica River settlement to control shipping off the coast and thus close the border between the British colonies and the Spanish Florida protect. On May 26, 1936, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed the fort’s designation as a National Monument-Type Memorial.
