The Torres del Paine are the distinctive three granite peaks of the Paine mountain range or Paine Massif , in Southern Chile.
The Torre Sur Di Agostini with its 2,500 m is the highest of the three towers , the first ascent on it was made in 1963 by the CAI expedition of Monza led by Giancarlo Frigieri together with Armando Aste , Nando Nusdeo, Josve Aiazzi , Vasco Taldo, Carlo Casati . Torre Central (2,460 m) was first climbed in 1963 by Chris Bonington and Don Whillans , Torre Norte Monzino (2,260 m) by Guido Monzino .
In a special edition of National Geographic , Torres del Paine was chosen as “the fifth most beautiful place in the world.”
On the three Torres del Paine there are numerous climbing routes opened since the 1960s and even today consists a top destination for hikers and climbers in Patagonia.
