West Quoddy Head Light is a lighthouse located on West Quoddy Head, at the mouth of the St. Croix River, Washington County, Maine, United States.
In 1808 a lighthouse was built from quarry stone masonry. West Quoddy Head is the easternmost point on the mainland of the state of Maine and therefore the United States of America.
The lighthouse keeper’s home, built in 1857, now contains a museum maintained by the West Quoddy Head Light Keepers Association, which is open from Memorial Day to mid-October.
It has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since July 4, 1980.
Currently The East Quoddy Lighthouse carries the title of being the most photographed lighthouse in the world.
