Jackson, Wyoming

Jackson is a town in western Wyoming located in the far south of Grand Teton National Park.  It is the seat of in the Teton County, United States.

In 1894, a new settlement appeared on the US map – Jackson, the future administrative center of Teaton County. The founders of Jackson really wanted it to have their own post office, but for this they had to prove to the Federal Postal Service for a year that it was possible to consistently deliver mail to Jackson.
In 1925, Jackson had a population of 400, but over the summer 600 “agrotourists” visited it. Some of them loved Jackson Hole so much that they bought houses and a ranch here.
In 1965, the first ski lifts were installed on the slopes of Jackson Hole, and the resort became year-round. And then billionaires and Hollywood stars began to buy land in the district – Bill Gates, Harrison Ford, Brad Pitt, Sandra Bullock have their ranches here … And Teton County became, according to Rolls-Royce Motor Cars, the richest in the United States
19 kilometers northwest of Jackson is the more famous Jackson Hole ski resort, opened in 1966 and currently has one of the continent’s steepest ski slopes at an altitude of 1262 meters.
