Tam Cốc-Bích Động is a tourist destination near the city of Ninh Binh in northern Vietnam and part of the Tràng An Landscape Complex.
Tam Cốc-Bích Động consists of two parts: Tam Cốc, an underwater karst system and Bích Động, a series of pagodas in the rocky landscape.
Tam Cốc : lit. “three caves,” consists of three natural caves — Hang Cả, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba — on the banks of the Ngô Đồng River.
Bich Dong :
The Bích Động Pagodas were built on the Ngu Nhac Mountains. They are divided into a lower , middle and upper pagoda.
Tràng An – Tam Cốc Landscape Complex is listed as a special national monument by the Prime Minister of Vietnam and listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as Tràng An Landscape Complex.The area is nicknamed “the inland Ha Long Bay”.

- The Tam Coc (meaning “three caves”) is a three-hour boat ride down the Ngo Dong River, starting from the village of Van Lam and passing through a picturesque landscape dominated by rice fields and karst towers. The route includes three natural caves (Hang Ca, Hang Hai, and Hang Ba), the largest of which is 125m long, with its ceiling about 2 meters above the water.
- The landscape of Tam Coc, especially on both sides of the Ngodonggang River, can change depending on the rice growing season (green rice, yellow rice or silver water) in the fields.
- Tam Coc – Bich Dong tourist area has a pretty good hotel system. Hotels are concentrated in Tam Coc marina area, Ninh Binh tourist complex village and on the route from Tam Coc to Bich Dong.
