Goðafoss waterfall is located in the river Skjalfandafljot in north Iceland ( translated roughly as The Waterfall of The Gods ) is one of the most spectacular waterfalls in Iceland.
It is located in the municipality of Þingeyjarsveit region of NorðurlandEystra in the north of the country, at the start of the highland road of Sprengisandur. The waters of the Skjalfandafljot river fall from a height of twelve meters and along a width of thirty meters.

It is 438 kilometers away from Reykjavik, 50 kilometers away from Akureyri and 214 kilometers away from Egilsstaðir. Godafoss is off of route 1, between Myvatn to the east (38 km) and Akureyri to the west (48 km). From Húsavík (49.9 km) via Norðausturvegur ,39 min drive / By bus from Akureyri, Myvatn or Egilsstadir, take line 62 and 62a.
