The Washington Monument is a tall white obelisk near the west end of the National Mall Park in Washington, DC. United States.

The Washington Monument is a monumental obelisk honoring the first President of the United States of America, George Washington, in Washington, D.C. It stands on a hill on the National Mall – a straight line connecting the Capitol and the Lincoln Memorial, is 169.05 m high and consists of “Bluestone Gneiss” in the foundation and granite. The construction phase lasted from the laying of the foundation stone on July 4, 1848 to December 6, 1884.
The reflection of the monument can be viewed from the Lincoln Memorial in the so-called Reflecting Pool, a large body of water at the foot of the hill. Visitors to Washington can see inside the monument. There is an elevator to the top of it. From the top, the National Mall, the White House, the US Capitol and the Abraham Lincoln Memorial can be seen.
