The village is one of the relatively high villages of the Troodos mountain range,  the village of Alona, ​​located on the northern side of the mountains and bounded by the peaks of Papoutsa and Madari at an altitude of 1200 m above sea level.
Alona is one of the most beautiful villages in the area, with traditional stone houses, there are two churches and a library in the village,the famous modern Cypriot artist Telemachos Kantos lives in the village, who depicts mainly the surrounding mountain landscapes on his canvases.
