Jhochhen Tole ,known as Freak Street is a small street located in the center of Kathmandu, the capital of Nepal.
This street in old Kathmandu informally received this name following the presence, in the 1960s and 1970s, of numerous hashish shops, then on sale over the counter in Nepal. A large number of hippies ended up at Freak Street, the final stop on their “Hippie trail”.
Today the street has taken on the ordinary appearance of a “street for tourists”, even if the old name is still present on many signs, overall a unique & truly Instagrammable place.
