Peahi also known as Jaws is a world-famous beach- surfing spot on the island of Maui, in the US state of Hawaii.
Jaws located between mile markers 13 and 14 on Hāna Highway, at the foot of hills planted with sugar cane.
This beach is called “Jaws” because of the size and ferocity of its waves, which can move up to 48 kilometers per hour1 when the weather conditions are right, most often between December and February.
We are talking here about a giant wave, supersonic, which can go up to 48 km/h and peak up to 25 meters (almost a 10-story building). Just that.
