Antelope Canyon also known as “Corkscrew Canyon”) is the most visited slot canyon in the southwestern United States. It consists of the Upper Antelope Canyon and the Lower Antelope Canyon and is located near Page in Arizona. It was formed by the Antelope Creek, a creek about 30 km long and rarely watered after torrential rains in the area of origin in the Mormon Ridges. The stream and its canyons run roughly parallel to the Rocky Mountains from south-southeast to north-northwest, in a direction common on the Colorado Plateau.
In addition to the two slot canyons, a side canyon flooded by Lake Powell is also referred to as Antelope Canyon this is navigable on a length of a few kilometers by boat. In this area, the gorge is at the narrowest points about 10 m wide.
Located near Lake Powell, this “slot” canyon is considered sacred by the Navajo.

The main lifeline of Page is US Highway 89. From the west it leads from St. George, Ut through Kanab, Ut to Page, from the south from Flagstaff, Az.A paved detour via Indian Road 20 has been set up. Page can be reached from Arizona via Arizona State Route 98.
By plane :
The airport Page (Page Municipal Airport) borders directly on the eastern edge of the city. His ID is PGA. The only airline serving the airport is Great Lakes Airlines. In regular service she serves Denver, Co, Los Angeles, Ca daily via Kingman, Az and Phoenix, Az.
By bus : Helping Hand Express operates two bus routes operating within the city, including Greenhaven, Az and Big Water, Ut.
Get around : There is a car rental company . The taxi company Grand Circle Shuttle: serves Page and the surrounding area 24 hours a day.
Most attractions are approached by the various tour operators. The use of a rental car, however, is recommended.

Navajo Parks and Recreation Department, has the authority to issue filming permits in tribal park areas pursuant to Government Services Committee resolution GSCJY-18-04, Section IV. J.
Once you get to town, you should plan to be at your tour companies location 20 minutes before hand. Advance reservations are HIGHLY recommended during the spring, summer, and fall months. The Navajo Nation limits the number of permits available per day, so sold out days are very common.
The road to upper Antelope Canyon is gated by the Navajo Nation and entry is restricted to guided tours led by authorized tour guides.
No camping is allowed in the park. Access is by guided tour only./
