Acantilados de Los Gigantes (“Cliffs of the Giants”) are vertical cliffs along the western coast of the Canary Island Tenerife, Spain.
The tourist town of the Los Gigantes is known for its cliffs, which in the old times they were known as the “Wall of Hell” or “Devil’s Wall” which offer a spectacular view from land and sea and are called Acantilados de los Gigantes. At this point the rocks drop vertically up to 450 meters into the sea.
From the village you can reach the rock walls on foot and come to a small plateau from which the visitor gets a breathtaking view of the rock cliff. In the town there is also a small beach right next to the small harbor, the approximately 200 meter long black and fine sand Playa de los Guíos, surrounded by several bars, souvenir shops and restaurants.
Another way to view the cliffs and get an even more spectacular view of the cliffs is from the sea. A number of local operators offer boat trips to Los Gigantes on sailing boats, motorboats or catamarans. These tours are often combined with observing dolphins and pilot whales, which live just off the coast. A good starting point for such tours is, for example, the harbor in Los Cristianos. Whether accessed by boat or climbed on foot, these cliffs always offer breathtaking views.
