Hvitserkur or the Troll of Northwest Iceland, is a basalt rock on the eastern coast of the Vatnsnes Peninsula in northwestern Iceland.
The rock reaches 15 m in height. At the base there are two holes, giving the rock a resemblance to an elephant or a dragon drinking the water of Hunafjord. The base was reinforced with concrete to prevent damage from the sea.
it is a tourist place because of its particular shape and in particular its double natural arch.

Highlights :
- In 1990, the Hvitserkur rock was featured on a postage stamp worth 25 ISK.
- According to an Icelandic legend, the rock is said to be a troll who was petrified by the sun when he threw stones at Þingeyrar Monastery.
