The Ffestiniog Railway is a narrow gauge railway in Gwynedd, a county in the north-west of Wales , United Kingdom.

The Ffestiniog Railway is a narrow gauge (597 mm) railway 13.5 miles (22 km) long, connecting the cities of Porthmadog and Blaenai -Festiniog.
The single-track line, with numerous sidings, runs through the mountainous terrain of the Snowdonia National Park. Opened in 1836, it was originally intended to transport slate from surrounding quarries to Porthmadog.
In 1946 it ceased to operate, but  was restored in 1956.  The company currently continues to operate tourist trains between Blainhai Festiniog and Porthmadog Port stations.
