Gosau is a charming alpine village and ski resort in the district of Gmunden, in the south-west of the state of Upper Austria.
The tourist community of Gosau is part of the Dachstein Salzkammergut holiday region at the foot of the Dachstein (2996 m above sea level). The municipal area is part of the cultural landscape of Hallstatt-Dachstein/Salzkammergut, one of ten world heritage sites in Austria.
