Torre des Savinar also known as Torre del Pirata, is an medieval defense tower along the southern coast of Ibiza (Eivissa) Island, Spain.
Eivissa is a Spanish island in the Mediterranean Sea off the eastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula. The medieval defense tower Torre des Savinar is spectacularly located on the high southern cliffs of Ibiza. It is located inside the Cala d’Hort Natural Reserve, perched on a cliff, in front of the islets of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell. It was completed in 1756 and, although it was designed as an artillery tower, it never housed cannons, limiting itself to serving as a surveillance watchtower.
From the Torre des Savinar you can enjoy privileged views of Es Vedrà ,The islets of Es Vedrà and Es Vedranell are located right in front of the tower, representing one of the most recognizable views of Ibiza which has inspire “instagramers”, writers, artists, photographers and musicians, the access to the interior of the tower has been closed and it is necessary to pay an entrance fee.
