Whiteford Point Lighthouse is located off the Gower Peninsula at Whiteford Point near Whiteford Sands in the county of Swansea, South Wales.
It is a Victorian style tower dating back to 1865 built entirely of cast iron. The base is located just above low tide level, so at high tide it becomes an offshore lighthouse, meaning it is completely surrounded by water. Built by the Llanelli harbor master, it has been abandoned since 1926.
Whiteford Lighthouse is the only cast iron lighthouse in Britain whose base is in the water, although it can be reached on foot at low tide.
