The Geroldsee also known as Wagenbrüchsee , is a moorland lake of the Gerold district of the municipality of Krün in the Upper Bavaria , Germany.
The body of water, which has no inflow or outflow, is a popular swimming lake with bathing areas on the north and south banks. Between the Geroldsee and the Barmsee, which is just 2 km further east, as well as the Grubsee, there are hiking trails, and in winter there are also groomed cross-country ski trails.
This area offers fantastic panoramic view of the Karwendel and Wetterstein mountains, at the same time , Geroldsee consists one of the most famous photo subjects in Bavaria.
