Rosslyn Chapel, is a 15th-century Gothic church in the village of Roslin, Midlothian, near Edinburgh, Scotland, United Kingdom.
The chapel was founded by William Sinclair, 1st Earl of Caithness , of the clan SinClair, a Scottish noble family descended from Norman knights. A series of legends or myths have been woven about the chapel that say that, for example, it is crossed by the Paris Meridian.
In recent years Rosslyn Chapel has featured in numerous speculative theories about Freemasonry, the Knights Templar and the Holy Grail. This temple gained fame because part of the movie The Da Vinci Code was filmed there.
Roslin Chapel is a delightful, mystical, Gothic monument of history and architecture, which today is very popular among tourists from all over the world and decently an insta hotspot.
