History
Built in 1906, the Westerheversand Lighthouse has played a crucial role in navigating the dangerous sandbanks of the North Sea. The lighthouse replaced earlier, less effective navigational aids and has been fully automated since the 1970s, no longer requiring a lighthouse keeper to maintain it.

Standing at 41.5 meters (136 feet) tall, the Westerheversand Lighthouse boasts a classic cylindrical design, with a stone foundation that supports its massive steel structure.
