The Sagrada Família is a Roman Catholic modernist basilica in Barcelona , Catalonia, Spain.
La Sagrada Familia considered the main work of the Catalan architect Antoni Gaudí. Its construction began in 1882 and continues to the present day, is expected to be completed in 2026,on the 100th anniversary of Gaudi’s death.
In 2005, UNESCO added the Nativity façade and the crypt of the Sagrada Família to its World Heritage List as an extension of the Works of Antoni Gaudí World Heritage Site. On November 7, 2010, Pope Benedict XVI consecrated. the church and at the same time elevated it to a minor basilica.
The iconic Sagrada Familia offers stunning photo opportunities and considered one of the the Most Instagrammable Places in Barcelona.
