Mellieħa is a rural, tourist-developed small town in the northernmost part of the island of Malta , in Southern Europe, in the Mediterranean Sea.
Mellieħa’s main source of income today is tourism. The beach along Mellieħa Bay is considered the longest sandy beach in Malta and is used extensively by tourists and locals. Mellieħa Bay is lined with several hotels and a Danish holiday village.
The town, located upstream, organizes numerous events during the summer months which revolve around the festivities related to the activities of the Sanctuary of Our Lady of Melleha: festivals, patronal celebrations, fireworks shows enliven the area in the summer period, which have their peak on the feast of the Madonna, September 8th.
The ferry pier to Comino and Gozo and the harbor for excursion boats, which also has a wide range of activities for divers, are located here.

- In the north-west area there is the area known as l-Aħrax Tal-Mellieħa , there are beautiful coves with beaches of Armier Bay and Ramla Bay. / The northernmost part of Melleha’s area is home to the tiny village of Ċirkewwa, from which Gozo Channel Company ferries leave for Gozo every half hour or so. Furthermore there are numerous small bays with sheltered beaches, including Golden Bay, a small sandy beach very popular with tourists.
- The Mellieħa parish festa is the feast of Our Lady of Victories, which begins on August 30 and culminates on September 8, commemorating the end of the Great Siege of 1565.
