Slunj is a a small town in Karlovac county, in the region of Lika, in central Croatia.
Slunj is located in a mountainous region 30 kilometers north of Plitvice Lakes National Park and 15 kilometers west of the border with Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Korana River flows through the city, and within the city limits the small river Slunčica flows into it. The important road Karlovac – Knin passes through Slunj.
The surroundings of the city are very picturesque. In the vicinity of Slunj there are a large number of waterfalls on Slunčica and Korana, attracting the attention of tourists, a famous landmark of the city are the ancient water mills, many of which were built in the 18th century, many old watermills can be visited. Slunj also has a very popular, natural bathing area on the Korana.
