Portmeirion is a small, holiday resort – a newly created village on the coast of Snowdonia in North Wales, United Kingdom.
inspired by Mediterranean villages, it was built between 1925 and 1975 , situated on its own peninsula in Southern Snowdonia today is a popular tourist destination, Portmeirion mainly consists of hotels, cottages, gift shops, cafes and restaurants. It is one of the ten most important tourist attractions in North Wales and can be visited with an entrance ticket. and up to a quarter of a million tourists visit it every year. Since 2012, Portmeirion has hosted an annual arts and music festival, Festival No. 6.
The village of Portmeirion has been a source of inspiration for writers and television producers.
