The Sphinx is a natural rock formation in Bucegi Natural Park located in the Bucegi Mountains of Romania. It is located at an altitude of 2,216 meters in the Babele rock formation complex.
Its resemblance to a Sphinx (if viewed from certain angles, marked around it), as well as the legends and history of the place, have made this geological formation an important tourist attraction.

Highlights :
- The easiest way to access it is with the Bușteni – Babele Cable Car, a route that is 4,350 m long, with a difference in level of 1,235 m and is traversed in approximately 15 minutes.
- The sphinx of Bucegi appears in the film Dacia (1967), as it is the place where Cotyso, the son of the Dacian king Decebalus (87-106 AD), is sacrificed
- The Bucegi Sphinx, together with the nearby Babel rocks, is included in the list of seven natural wonders of Romania.
